All products are homemade. There is no laser equipment in our shop, everything is done the old fashioned way. Some power tools are used, most notably a scroll saw, but that is opposed to cutting things out with a laser cutter. That way, every piece is unique; no two are completely alike. For example, we may have a few different styles of wooden ornaments and may have multiple items available under one style, but they will still be slightly different due to being made by hand. Every piece is hand sanded, and almost all pieces are coated with a clear finish. Our belief is that this gives our prouducts an appeal over mass produced items.
Many hours of work go into each piece due to the handmade nature of the work. Our work is cut or carved and hand sanded. Yet our prices are kept low. This is a small, home based business and we do it more for the enjoyment than for the money.
Waterborne finishing products are used whenever possible as these are more environmentally friendly. Waterborne means that the liquid form of the finish (before being applied and dried) contains water as the base product, instead of petroleum bases. Our smaller pieces are made from scrap from bigger pieces, to get the most out of the wood. We contribute to the Arbor Day Foundation, because we believe that we should, in our own small way, help to sustain the forests where our raw materials come from.
